To qualify for assistance, the property must be a detached single-family dwelling in Houston or East Harris County and in need of repair. The client MUST:

• Be elderly or disabled
• Own and live in the home
• Live on a low fixed income.

All repairs must be NECESSARY, and clients must be financially and physically unable to complete them on their own. Referrals to the programs are welcome from churches, social workers, civic associations, faith-based service organizations, concerned citizens, government offices, prospective clients and family. Clients are pre-qualified by a telephone interview when copies of qualifying documents are received, a home visit is made by an RT Houston Program Manager to access the need and confirm the client's eligibility.
