20 Years & Over 4,500 Houses
 
The Volunteer Home Repair Program is completing 20 years in 2005.
 
Thanks to the sacrifice of volunteers, and financial supporters, over 4,500 house exteriors have been restored for Rebuilding Together Houston clients at no cost to them.
 
Early in 1985, Founder, Rob Mosbacher approached St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and on May 4th St. Luke’s recruited 70 home repair volunteers from 4 churches.  Six house exteriors in two neighborhoods were restored in this pilot VHRP initiative.  The value of over 4,500 restored exteriors exceeds $20 million.  Thanks to volunteer spirit, this extraordinary program continues to thrive.
