APRIL IS NATIONAL REBUILDING MONTH!
Every April, communities across the country unite for National Rebuilding Month (NRM). What began in 1973 as a simple act of neighbors helping neighbors, NRM has grown into a powerful movement with thousands of volunteers working together to address critical home repairs and create safer living conditions for families across the country.
Here in Houston, we’re marking National Rebuilding Month with opportunities for our community to get involved. On April 15, we will host an open volunteer event, where volunteers will come together in our warehouse to build picnic tables for neighbors in the community — creating outdoor spaces where families can gather and connect.
On April 10th, ExxonMobil volunteers will be working on two homes, and on April 24, our National Rebuilding Month presenting sponsor, CenterPoint Energy, will be completing a home repair project.
While April shines a spotlight on this work, our mission continues year-round. Together with volunteers, donors, and community partners, we help seniors, veterans, and low-income homeowners remain safe, independent, and rooted in the homes they love.
Join us this National Rebuilding Month!

safe housing is a human need
Modesto Jaramillo is a Houston veteran and longtime homeowner. He served his country, but when his home began to fail him, he could not afford the critical repairs needed to stay safe. A leaking roof. Unsafe conditions. Repairs far beyond what a fixed income could cover.
No one who has served their community should have to live in unsafe housing. Safe housing is not a luxury. It is a basic need.
Across Houston, seniors, veterans, and families are living in homes that need critical repairs. Rebuilding Together Houston provides these repairs at no cost, helping neighbors like Joseph remain safe, healthy, and rooted in the communities they love.
Together, we are rebuilding homes and strengthening Houston, one home at a time.
